First Project

Thought I would take the opportunity to post a pic of my first completed project. Unfortunately I do not have any of the before pictures as my phone kindly deleted them all.

It's a 1986 (I think) Muddy Fox Courier, everything is original apart from the saddle, seat post, cables and grips.

I'm looking to change the grips at some point for something more fitting, preferably brown leather.

I inherited the bike from my father in law who had it from new. It had sat in an attic for most of its life but needed a fair bit of TLC. I originally took it on as a run about for the family runs, after finding this site I became a bit hooked. This lead to the powder coating etc,now my favourite ride by a country mile, although it's a tad on the small side for me.

Very nice ! I agree a nice pair of brown leather grips would look the part, have you seen the Brooks ones ?

The bug has well and truly bitten I have a road and tourer project stashed safely away in the attic, out with the wife's sight. I really want to do a Specialized build but saving so I can do it properly.

I was looking at those grips however I am struggling to justify the price tag. I thought the Viking Heritage would look quite good.

As for the cable lengths I probably will get round to changing them at some point, however they were my first attempt and I had stupidly binned the originals so had nothing to compare them against.
