I don't plan to change much about the parts, I don't know what could be improved.
It will just be serviced and maintained and things that are broken will be repaired if possible.
And it will get another saddle.

The toad has now arrived at my shed, the messenger and I started the weekend with a successful bike exchange, which was extremely satisfying for both sides. So thanks for that Pat!
The bike runs okay and so it was time to celebrate, but that's beside the point.
The last week was pretty stressful and I didn't even get round to inspecting the bike. I've now made up for that.
The previous owner must have had a penchant for hexagon bolts because he replaced pretty much every Allen bolt he could with a hexagon bolt.
The seatpost looks bad and I don't know whether I can continue to use it, but I will take a closer look soon.
For now I only had to readjust the brakes a little, the front shift cable was loose, the clipless pedals were tight and the shifters didn't work but a little cleaning did the job.
I didn't really want to dirty the bike so that I wouldn't have to clean it so much before taking it apart, but I couldn't stand it any longer today.
So I fitted a different seat post and saddle, changed the pedals and grips, pumped up the tyres and then I was off into the forest.
What can I say, apart from the tyres which are pretty dead and a few little things that need to be done, it rides wonderfully. The frame feels stiff and direct and still offers a lot of comfort, I think the fork also has their part in that. The trails were pretty slipery today but the bike never felt unsafe. It will be really awesome with new tyres.
However, I need to work on my neck if I don't want to mount higher handlebars....
As well as the brakes, I've also made progress on the wheels and the rear derailleur, but I'll save that for a later post.
As soon as I have space and time to work on it again, I'll continue.
