Finally got it FINISHED ....... VERY PACE HEAVY

Been a while as I've been waiting on the wheels to be built. Here's a couple of pics of said wheels, all NOS. Will try a couple of sets of tyres on when I get time but at the moment I'm loving the grey z-max's, other options are tanwall black Z-max's and IRC's

Should be complete by the weekend :D :D :D :D

Thanks again for the comments. Spent a good hour just setting the maguras up yesterday, they're so bloody fiddly its untrue though I reckon now they're done they can be forgotten to an extent compared to canti's which I'm forever tweaking on other bikes. Pedals are on too but Have no pic's yet. Really excited now as its just a matter of fitting cassette and setting up the rear mech. Oh and putting air the tyres. :D

I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well actually with a lot of help from my mate Rich, so thanks to him and his endless supply of useful bits and bobs, abilty to make things and make things work and tools and cups of tea and biscuits and letting me keep the bits at his while the build took place. Also thanks to the lads at Rock'n'Roll bikes for building the wheels and shortening the Mag hoses.

:D :D

Still need to replace one of the sprigs in the right shifter adj barrel so rear mech cable hasn't been nippled off and the seat has been adjusted since these pic's were taken.

It has however had its first ride and is covered in dust now,

Now lots of pics

I absolutely bloody LOVE it, can't stop looking at it and after its first outing I'm pretty pleased with the way it rides. The bars being sub 130's are about as narrow as I could bear and the stem could also do with being a little shorter but it climbed well up some moderate hills and feels quick on the flat despite not being the lightest of my bikes. The forks are nothing like modern but for their age and limited travel what could you expect. Not much better really, It'll be off out again tomorrow to fine tune the set up but yeah, really happy. :D

I'm not sure how I've missed this build thread up until now, but I really love that. Great choice of parts throughout, and I think the XTR rear mech suits better than the DA one, too.

Saddle position looks a little ... unconventional. Is this to compensate for the long top tube on these frames?

Love it!

Cheers for the positive comments, you'll be pleased to know the saddle isn't like that anymore. Careless of me  but these were pre ride/setup pics, however the top tube is long and may require a shorter stem but rode her again today and getting used to it so we'll see.

:D
