It's FIMOCO not FIMICO, it comes from Tuscany, Italy where I live. Follonica, to be more precise. It's the same brand later renamed Race Factory, mostly known for beautiful CNC'd forks, which worked VERY well.
They were absolutely the best elastomer forks around in 1994-95.
Unfortunately the manager was a nutter and messed everything up.
My friend has this very hub on his Szabo. Apparenty, it 's stiff but bearings are not very smooth.

Din't want to be polemic, I'm afraid I tend to misuse block leters sometimes. BTW, where did you find it? Germany or Italy' (I doubt it was exported in other countries other than Germany)

As with most nice - pretty coloured bits, Came from Germany - as you suspected.
