Warren Beatty

Taking a break from his bike-ride-through-the-woods-with-Jean-Seberg scene, Warren Beatty stops to chat with actress Jessica Walter and director Robert Rossen. The film is Lilith, the 1964 mental illness romantic drama in which Seberg has the title role, playing a diagnosed schizophrenic who falls in love with Beatty’s occupational therapist, newly employed at a private Long Island clinic.

Released by Columbia Pictures, the film would be the final feature from director Rossen, whose Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning pictures include All the King’s Men and The Hustler. Beatty would star in Arthur Penn’s neo noir Mickey One the following year. Photo: Josh Weiner.
