Meryl Streep, in the 1998 Sony Pictures Classics release Dancing at Lughnasa. La Streep starred as sister Kate Mundy in the adaptation of the Brian Friel play, set in Between-the-Wars rural Ireland. The vintage rod-brake bike came equipped with Brooks leather saddle. Photo: Padraig O’Reilly.
Still very popular here in Ireland up until the 1980s or so. The bike that is.

Audrey on the Paramount lot. A rare photo of the iconic star, taken during production of Sabrina, the 1954 romance in which Hepburn starred opposite Humphrey Bogart and William Holden. No credit for the photo, but most likely taken by Mark Shaw, who documented the actress’ days and nights during filming of the Billy Wilder classic.
