Fife and Tayside rides thread

Re: East Coast Rides Thread

Great afternoon out with Rob and Keith, although ploughboy apparently found it pretty hard to drive past the signs for this...

http://www.scotplough.co.uk/scottish-pl ... ps-2014-2/

Had a proper trundle on Keith's 907. Just leaves me more convinced that a fat bike is on the cards at some point in my future. Didn't like the wide BB (and maybe it was a bit lower than I'm used to too), but its climbing ability up and over wet roots was just daft. And this was on summer tyres. Plus once you got it going, it really does just float over everything. A lot less harsh than my half-fat, part of that was down to my front tyre still having too much air in it, but the fat rear obviously helps take out more of the sting than I realised. Or maybe it was the carbon fat fork. Anyway, it was superb.

I think Rob's gradually coming around too :)

Re:

Aye thoroughly enjoyed that, even the shite weather was kind to us.

Can't get enough of the 907 fatty, it is just absurd what you can ride up and over. Been one of my best bike purchases.

Ps keep an eye in eBay for a medium blue pig, which might be goin up soon after the performance today ;)

Re: East Coast Rides Thread

so ZZ & Rob - you guys still up for a trundle round Toonhill woods then out to Deans on Sunday, starting around 1ish?

plan is to explore the trails in Toonhill to try to figure out the best loop, there is not a lot of height gain but trails crisscross everywhere so will involve following our noses a bit. then out to Deans on the mostly offroad route the Edin meetup guys showed me.

prob 3 hour ride out, any others fancy it?
