Hhhmm ... Sorry for the late update ... :-(
A few bike related bits (one for each of the Marin, Airborne and Yo) have gone tits up lately and really hacked me off ... :-(
Luckily the problem with the Yo is now sorted, the Airborne is almost sorted but the Marin remains outstanding ...
Anyhow, on with the Yo
I sent a few bits to Rampage / Intrincycle to re anodise as spares (also with some bits / spares for the Marin and the Airborne) along with some 7075 bar :
After Rampage had worked his magic :
The 7075 bar was converted into these, some for the Marin, some for the Airborne, some for the Fat (oversize), spares and one for Cherrybomb :
They are for the USE posts, they are my custom design to :
A) Replace lost / missing / hard to source (correctly sized) items.
B) Stop the pin moving rewards and the front bolt head touching / damaging the finish on the front of the post.
C)Add a bit of bling
Ultimately, the pins for the Yo will be done in purple
They look really nice assembled and fit well :
Equal spacing from top of post to both front and back bolts :
Really pleased with the result
These are the other bits destined for the Yo from this batch of anodising :
They were done black to contrast with the cups that will ultimately be going purple (picture from up this thread somewhere) :
I sourced a few NOS bits for the crank First up was a NOS XTR down hill spider to run a single ring up the front. I wasn't worried about the odd PCD being difficult to find replacements for, these are also NOS :
They should keep it running for a while …
I sourced them whilst waiting for the spider to arrive so you can imagine how p1ssed I was when the 'NOS' spider arrived complete with fitment marks, some light corrosion, some scratches and some chain gouges … :-(
I wanted to get the spider redone in purple but Rampage tells me that purple needs a really good surface finish to get a nice result … :-(
Luckily the seller was cool about it and issued a full refund
A few PM's and one payment later and Ian came up trumps (same source as the frame) It's not NOS but its pretty damn good ! :
And it came with a NOS 48 tooth :
I started to dress the spider up ready for ano, its going to be a perfect candidate
I also have a 112mm NOS bottom bracket on the way
