Unused for years, 531 f+f, 27.2mm seatpost, forks round in section, unusual scalloping on seat stay caps
Will strip and see how far gone frame is..
Any ideas on year?

Looking a the lugs, seat stays and dropouts the frame looks much older than the decals, looks like an over paint job, is there a serial number on the left rear dropout

Serial on bottom of bb....appears to be SJ42SB4, first couple digits tricky to see...now stripped frame, weighs 4.25lbs, 56cm st c-c, 58cm tt c-c, fork has stamped nos. 803090 + 135

Rear dropout width appx. 118mm...brazed on outer cable stops on dt and chain stay top to enable rear mech. cable route across top of bb shell

Started to wet and dry frame..black paint with red lead undercoat ..more no's revealed on bb
Can't see any no's on dropouts

With a badly stamped O it looks more like SO42 and swap the SB4 around and we have a Brockenhurst in the New Forest post code SO42 4SB

Think that's spot on... Guy I bought it off lives edge of New Forest
Other bb no. appears to match one on fork steerer

Was he the original owner from new? Any more history about the bike
Anything stamped on the dropout or is it just flaking paint.
