Fairly Mental French and Italian Bikes

The Cycles Laurent shop in Boulevard Voltaire is well worth a visit. They used to have a very cool range of posters, mostly featuring scantily clad women on their bikes, which were habitually stolen from the shop windows. Eventually they started selling them, originals now go for 500-1500 euro....!

French designer Philippe Starck created the Pibal, a hybrid of a bicycle and scooter, designed for urban commuting. This innovative bike allows riders to pedal or use a low scooter leg platform for propulsion. With its bright yellow tires for visibility and space for bag racks, the Pibil is a practical solution for city dwellers, available for free loan to citizens.

His shop at 11 rue Danton, Lyon. Great little shop, he has cutaways of some of his frame designs. Specialist in touring/randonee but will turn his hand to anything.
