That first picture is the first time i've seen some one need a full face crash hat
 
In the pic. I just posted it looks to me that he just landed a jump (front tire appears slightly squished) when the stem failed and probably the landing also caused his chain to unship. Pat

dr s's pic amuses me - i have a die hard ex bmx mate who hate's spd pedals due to his feeling that you can't get unclipped in a crash.
