Hi guys, I am after Pelton Shade Blue bar tape, or similar, and have had no luck thus far.
This is an ebay link but its for Pink.

Failing getting my hands on some, I was wondering if I can make my own?

Get some white new bar tape and paint it???
What would be ideal, cotton, leather, synthetic etc?
What paint would be ideal not to fade or come of on your hands?
Also the other drama is what will happen when you stretch it to wrap it? Will the paint crack?

Any thoughts would be great!!! Also if anyone knows where I can get the Pelton Shade in Blue, that would help also.

My bike frame blends from white to blue to black, so if I was going to make my own bar tape colour thats how I would do it also.

There is an auction on ebay for F.U.B.A.R PVC foam bar tape. They have an aqua colour fade effect one, is that any good, or wrong shade of blue?

I would imagine you would have most luck trying to dye either cotton or cork tape, since either of those would absorb the dye. As you say, paint over most surfaces would crack I'd expect. I am not sure how you would get the fade effect with the dye though. To be honest it sounds like a messy job with uncertain results.

If you want multiple colours, maybe you could do a barber's pole type of wrap with two or even more colours. Sorry, no idea how you actually do that but it is possible.

Thats cool, thanks for that. I might try it with Blue and White.

Or because my frame is White, Black and blue, I could wrap the lower half of the bars in white, the upper half in blue and the black brifter rubber boot will make the transition, so all 3 colours are represented haha
