Had an Equipe, my first proper bike. Actually loved it and hated the 531-framed thing I replaced it with when I was 16, put me off road bikes altogether.

Would love one of the top of the range Bananas from around 88

Did not get into MTBs until Uni.

Raleigh Jeep, third hand, 18" frame, and I was already @ 5' 9" when I was twelve!! Found one in a s/hand shop in Brighton @1990, came that close to buying it.
Would now, of course- I've been RetroBIKEd............

I reckon I was on the Chopper/Grifter cusp, @ 1976.

Purple Chopper here too! Then got into BMX and won - won - an Aero Pro Burner in a competition at .... (wait for it) ..... Halfords! Happy days!

Raleigh Wayfarer when I was about 10 or 11 when my mates had Arenas or Grifters - still ripped the legs off the arena boys on my three speed sit up and beg through
