Ever notice... (steel isn't real anymore)

Plus Niner's SIR and MCR. I'm building a Kermit green SIR right now, single speed, full rigid.

The SIR frame is nice but not even close to the quality of the older steel frames i'm lucky enough to have. Fat Chance, Yeti FRO, and my Marin TET all have the vent holes brazed closed, excellent welds and the style that you can only get from modern custom fabricators.

Few remain that remember the riddle of steel...
 
Cotic are big on steel. The Soul is lovely. Expensive though.

Rock lobster 853 good value. Bit plain looking.

I like the charge Duster though - especially last year's blue. Tange Prestige!

I have an on-one inbred steel bruiser. A bit of a tank but is lively and has a good old-fashioned feel to it. Would find a nice duster frame if I rode it more though.
 
You've also got Kona, Salsa, Surly, Canfield, Dialled, Singular.
