Not like me to big up a company, but I ordered some parts a fortnight ago and they never arrived despite my calling to request they get them out pronto on Friday. I tried to cancel the order yesterday after complaining to their customer support, having called on Monday because I had not been invoiced on the Friday order, but was told they were already sent. I pointed out I had now sourced them locally and was then told there would be no invoice, so I am welcome to keep them as spares.

Over £300 worth and they have just arrived. Luckily I had not set to with the parts I picked up locally, so they can all go back. I don't really need a spare catalytic convertor and sensors or brake shoes, drums that last years!

THAT is customer service!

They do sell tools and such as well, relevant to bikes, but I just thought a lot of use cars also so worth noting a firm who take customer satisfaction seriously!

£300 was similar to their delivery charges to a Highland postcode last time I tried taking advantage of one of their special offers on engine oil... despite the chancers now having an outlet in Inverness! They were uninterested in trying to explain how my part of Scotland isn't Mainland Britain so I let them keep their oil...

Funnily enough, I actually ended up getting three lots of what I ordered for free in the same way you did - supplier kept sending the orders out and Royal Mail Special Delivery kept "disappearing" them, suspicious that some dodgy trader (it was Amazon!) was sending used engine oil by Special Delivery.

They didn't arrive the next day but they did arrive the next month, just... after a trip by sea to Ireland for inspection.

Interesting AJM. I have tried to order things before that were not in stock and faced a similar 'surcharge'. I totally pees us off to have this kind of charge, and even more when the headline claim is 'Free UK Mainland Delivery' or similar.

Eurocarparts will take the order over the phone and get it into the local depot for you, even if they don't offer 'Reserve and Collect' on the website.

It is just this kind of anomaly I hope an independent Scotland would sort out.

;)

You're right, the anomaly would be sorted out so that the whole of Scotland was in the "rip-off delivery charge" bracket and not just half of it!

I expect you are right, but it is unlikely we are going to find out!

If you go it alone, then it'll be classed as overseas postage ;-)

I use ecp and their click and collect a lot, and make use of discount codes a lot. Recently got an oil level sensor for the bora exactly the same part as vw supply and a third of the vw price.

Wouldnt use ECP if you paid me, I work for a local motorfactors and i have seen first hand the difference in quality of their parts compared to ours, price compared to ours and overall delivery time and customer service from them is simply shocking, parts are made of chocolate and usually you will have to buy twice from them, when you couldve probably gone to the mainstealers for less lol!

Bosch, Pagid, NGK, Sachs, KYB, Shell, Lucas..

Chocolate?

Been using them for as long as I can remember and have not had one single poor quality part, nor poor customer service. This was the only time I have ever had an issue and they went overboard to resolve it.

Just how have you gained so much knowledge of their parts, delivery times and customer services?

Re:

From working in a motorfactors myself and seeing first hand their parts failing, delivery times being shocking and people coming to us complaining about parts from them being crap and not vowing to never use them again lol
