And if you end up riding the event with hipsters, you get to choose which thread to post on

All this whining about hipsters; they are very much the minority at the event so I don't know why some people are getting all bent out of shape about it ... if you put thousands of people in the same place they won't all be the same which would be boring.
my reply was tongue-in-cheek. Good job I don't do comedy for a job lol

I agree, it should be for all-comers
Its had 2 successful years now, something must be right

Seems most of the moaning comes from those who have never been; I hope they stay away as the last thing the event needs is a load of moaners in attendance; I'd rather a few chippy hipsters ...

I always think of hipsters riding fixed wheel, which is definitely not advisable at LEB. I guess there are some that have done it.

I don't think I have seen anyone doing the ride on fixed; it would be foolish.

I agree it is a successful formula, and despite the criticism you're moaning about the moaners! In any case I wasn't moaning, merely decrying the fact that it clashes with one of my favourite events and that is the Anjou Velo.

So I will be staying away - sadly. I'll be at the Anjou and on the Cotentin Peninsula for the Tour de France - and possible a lovely little event in Spain (that I took part in this year).

Jon.

edit...typo

I believe that Guy Martin did the Rourkie Cat & Fiddle challenge this year on a fixie!

I have booked up to ride and will be taking the motorhome too. I really enjoyed last year it was all a bit of fun. Normally, I'm fairly disparaging about the hipsters (vandalising bikes etc.) but they really add something to Eroica. Where else are you going to see a "Best moustache" competition?

Re:

I'll be there in my motorhome as well, never been before but Eroica Italy was fantastic, can only do the 30 miles though as that's all I could con the daughter and missus into !!

I don't think hipsters would be any good for riding a bike in .Far to low cut and tight .
