Any of you entered the Best in Show and had conformation you are in?

No, it was the same last year. When we got there it was just a case of turning up at the set time with ya bike. They then reduced it down to 40, then 10 then the cat winners.

I'm not sure what is going on ... I saw an email about best in show and I filled in a form; they seemed to be suggesting they'd use this to create a short list. An attempt to be a bit more organised than last year which was a bit random and the classes thing didn't really work.

However I wasn't asked for a photo so I have no idea how you create a short list from a bit of text and I have heard nothing ...

I will email them to see what is happening ... although I suspect they are pretty busy.

Tried one of mine this year and the limited entry of 30 per class (3) was already full. Seems a very small amount of spaces in my opinion.

30 per class is 90 bikes so that seems loads to me ... last year they provided stands in the show ground for the short listed bikes so to provide 90 stands seems a lot. Plus how many could you reasonably judge?

What is not clear is how they select the 30 ... how can you do that without a photo?

Here is a photo of last years set up...

Mine didn't make it though to the final 10 so I don't really understand what happened after the first short listing ... Macca will know. ..

What I know of last year was reported here: ************************/l-eroica-brita ... view.shtml

Once we were down to the final 10, (3, 3 and a 4 I think for he classes) you had to go up on stage at 5pm. The judges then picked the best in each class and then from those 3 bikes they picked the best in show.

that's a long time for the judges to have sampled a few from the beer tent and then make choices.

Re:

Good to see so many trying to enter bike of the show, best of luck to you all.
I am enquiring about a previous idea mentioned earlier in this thread about a Retrobike members gathering somewhere over the weekend.
Anyone got any ideas, a banner was mentioned. It would be a great opportunity to meet other members and see their steeds in the flesh.

Re:

How about 3pm at the beer tent on Saturday?

Perhaps we should say at the left hand end of the tent outside as no doubt it will be busy ...

Wear a red carnation ;)

Bring your bikes.
