It is with a heavy heart and a large cup of tea, I announce I have come to the conclusion that my back will never allow me to ride again.

As some of you know my back has been a problem for years and was the reason I stumbled across this forum,Strangely! :D

I have been off the bike for a few weeks and my back has been pain free for the first time in years. This time I am not going to get back in the saddle just for my pain to come back and make my life agony. So, I guess that's it for me when it comes to riding. :(

I will be selling a few bits of kit and putting some of my prized stuff into storage. This Is not the end of me, I may start to collect a few vintage bits for fun.

I will be dropping in on occasion and I hope my health changes so I can be a more active member!!

Cheers all, al.

That's really rubbish. Have you tried crazy ideas like a modern sit-upright-and-bounce-along bike?

Sorry to hear that fella :(

Just collect and build to keep the interest alive.

Hopefully you'll get riding again one day.

Man up you puff

Your back only hurts due to lack of core muscle , sort that out and get the flexibility back with yoga ; Not that I put my back out 7 years ago or anything :p

Sorry to hear about your back. I know how you feel (sort of). When i was about 6 i was told that i had a mild form of spinobifida and that by the age of 40 i would possible be in a wheel chair if not crutched full time. I was told that i should not ride my bike anymore because it could make things worse.

Of course as any young boy would do........i totally ignored evrything the doctors said!!!

At the age of about 18 i started having to go to the chiropractors every 6 months, but against all logic my back is actually getting better!! My chiro says its a combo of riding and weight training to improve my back muscles.

I don't know if this will inspire you or make you feel worse! sorry if it's the later.
