After a year of delibiration I have finaly put my golf clubs up for sale!
I've been playing since I was 8 but the past year or so I've been as bad as I've ever been.
Hard to believe that less than 3 years ago I was playing off of 11 and now cant hit 3 straight shots in a row
Since re-discovering my love for cycling I haven't the time, inclination or (since finding this place!) the money to play more and get some lessons etc.
I need some forks for my Rock Lobster so the golf club money will go to a very good cause

Anyone else jacked a hobby after that many (wasted) years of trying to master it??

 you had me worried there!
no i cant say i have quit another hobby, what other hobbies are there? i mean other than golf and retrobikes?! none that i know of ;)

Never maintained a hobby for years.

My nature dictates that when it all gets 'normal' or loses momentum it gets binned for the next project of interest.

Golf lasted about 6 months for me.. only ever got my bats out on the driving range too.

I gave up trials riding after twenty years (from the age of 16 to 36) - I won't say wasted years though, as I wasn't actually half bad at it.

I keep toying with the idea of getting another trials bike - something for the twinshock class, as that's where the interesting machinery is IMHO.
I wish I could turn the clock back and have my favourite bike from BITD - my Miller- framed TL Honda - originally 125cc, bored to 180cc and soon afterwards stroked to 230cc with added flywheel weight, CB125 cylinder head, oil cooler, air forks, and everything really trick.
More than competitive with anything around at the time, at club/national level at least.

The downside being, that by the time I'd spent endless hours of machining doing all this work, it was like a little jewel and almost too pretty to use in anger.
Scrutineers always used to take the piss out of me because it was always so clean and cute......

i had a miller TL 180 ,it had a hilman imp piston in it
one of sammy's nickel plated frames
wish i still had it

makster congrats on giving up a pointless hobby like go lf
are you gonna sell all your pink pringle jumpers and check "pants" as well?

I hung my golf clubs up 7 years ago with the advent of Kids. However, now as time is appearing again I'm glad i didn't sell up.
A few sessions at the driving range and my interest is re emerging.
Selling stuff you have (& paid for) IMO means keep it unless you really have to liquidate it.

Ive got a garage full of large capacity motorbikes, since
I found this bloody place I havent looked at one of them.
And Im always skint :(

I used a modified CB750 piston when I did my conversion.

I used to go fishing for a full day at least once a fortnight, havent been now for well over 2 years.

Just can't be arsed to get all my gear out and go when I could be biking :)

Funny how something which dominated most of my spare time never gets a second thought now :?
