Eddy Merckx Early 80's

a little update to the build, im still undecided looking at other similar builds on whether to keep the paint original or repaint. also what are your thought on a few new parts ? this will be used as my daily commute.

todays work
105 brakes fitted front wheel serviced cleaned and little autosol for the rim

work for the weekend,

Campagnolo veloce chainset and new BB
schwalbe tyres and tubes
brooks saddle
105 headset
New cassette and chain

Potentially, im looking at a new wheelset but for now these will suffice

your thoughts?

The kessels Merckx that I have seen for sale recently in Holland are definitely high end machines both in build quality and value. One in particular was pantographed on the seat stays and bb but stickered from original as Merckx. Really lovely frame.
Thanks for the info with the dates. This thread is bringing out some good information.
Thanks

Jamie

Kessels, like Bianchi, spanned the spectrum of frame production from top end downward. :)

Falcon tended to use frames with a wrapround seat stay for their low end bikes at that time, the OP's frame doesn't which just made me think it wasn't a Falcon

However, Falcon were full of surprises :)
