Early 1993 Brodie "BHDT" eXpresso - FINISHED Part 2 :)

Re:

It's getting dark so quickly and I haven't taken a good shot of this yet. It's close now. Hopefully the next pics will be of it outside with some sunlight one it .

I'll probably swap the decals out for an older style set and ditch the expresso as technically this is a two off by Paul ... Not a regular design.

The brake hangers were not black as expected so I have so more coming. That's my just for show NOS xt732/Araya wheelset. The actual wheelset for riding is a black mavic/black ringle set.

I really like the fit on this. Should make a great trail bike. Not a purests cup of tea, but it's turning out exactly how I envisioned it.

Re:

Thanks to RockiMtn for the new down tube decals. Looks right now. What to do with the expresso decal?? It had one when I got it, but it's not really an expresso according to Paul. I like the look.

Re: Early 1993 Brodie "BHDT" eXpresso (Ex-ClimbMax) Build

Glad to see my decals works out so nicely on yet another bike.

BTW, don't forget to give me the details for the powdercoater you've been using. ;)

Re:

This was definitely my longest project. There were a few hold ups along the way, but its done in time for spring.

Little bit of the back story: I picked this frame up for $40 out of some guys shed. It was living a sad life. Here's the before:

It was likely sold as an eXpresso, but when I contacted Paul Brodie he said it was actually one of two bikes he called BHDT (Big Heavy Down Tube) that he built in January of 1993. It was built with Tange Prestige tubing.

The frame, fork, and stem were powdercoated but Quy in Kawa Green. The colour may not be everyone's cup of tea and it photographs terribly, but it turned out exactly how I wanted it. If this was 1993 and I was 16, this would have been the ultimate trail screamer I couldn't afford. As it looks is exactly how it will be ridden :)
