Running out of great days like this for riding in Toronto
I made a little mod to my brodie. A little function over form thing, but it doesn't look too fugly.
I didn't like how u had to slam the crank and outer ring over obstacles. Graftons aren't getting any cheaper and I don't want to wreck them. Gone is the outer raceface 46T ring. In is a BBG bash guard. Just a basic unit in black that fits with the look of the bike. Gives me an extra 20mm of clearance which doesn't sound like much, but it makes a world of difference.

This bike is my go to. Lots of fun and I always meet people on it.
That expresso Is going to be nice. Are you going to stick with the zokes or go rigid?

Yours looks like a 1993 to very early 1994. I have a 1994 Sovereign with different dropouts and cable routing. It was built for gators. I bet yours is to. You'll be ok with suspension if you go that route. Mine handles great with Mag21s and it was designed for gators to according to Paul.

Original owner bought it in 94 with rock shox. I guess it's possible he unknowingly bought an older rigid frame that the shop keeper put rock shocks on, and then lied to him about the year? I doubt it though but only running the serial number past Paul (with some beer money) will give you certainly.

I'd say you are right on the money there.
Here's my 1994 Brodie:
Your expresso has the older dropouts, routing, and seat clamp. If it's 1994 it's super early 1994. I bet 1993.
Paul will know for sure though. He dated the BHDT and the sovereign.
