Dyna Tech Titanium 90

Firstly apologies for I know nothing. It is only because I want to repair my old DynaTech that I have come across this world of retro bikes which I knew nothing of.
I have been riding my Dyna Tech from new for over 20 years. Recently one of the tubes separated. I welded it back and repainted the frame.
Now I find there are alternatives to the original parts which would improve my riding and posture ie stems.

Question is how do I get from the stock stem/quill to a Syncros type? I am assuming the front forks need to be high enough for the syncros cattleprod to be used? or am I missing something as my front forks do not go any higher than in the photo.

So how do I go from the original stem to the Syncros?

Isn't the syncros stem in your picture a quill, looks like one? just get a syncros quill of the same size as your current one (1"?) and in it goes.

Or if your talking about Ahead you can buy an adapter, no need to change forks.

quill

Cheers for reply.

Any idea where I can get an adapter?

the number at the bottom of the quill says 25 not 25.4 just 25

looked all over forums for size of stem to replace it with.

Is it a 1" or 1 1/8" and they say size doesnt matter!

welcome

cheers :)

I shall be using the forum often now. Only visited last week and think I have the bug already

Now does anyone know how I can convert the current set of forks to an ahead and stem

or does anyone know the size of the current forks I have? am totally clueless and have scoured the site for clues.
Conflicting sizes from 1" to 1 1/8"
Help

the problem is there are 3 possible sizes 1" 1 & 1/4 1 & 1/8 I don't think we can advise you until we know which size steerer you have. maybe you could drop the forks out and measure the external diameter.

if it helps the quill used with my 1" forks have a 22.2 shaft, you say yours reads 25 so maybe it's not 1"

when you know what size you're dealing with get back to us, you'll find some adapters on ebay but I'm not sure they do them for all three fork sizes...

Cheers for advice.
It was a 1 1/18" 25.4 quill.
Based upon said advice I went to Chain Reaction Cycles and bought a Quill adapter and stem and bars.
It fits so am a happy bunny :D
