DISSIN THE OLD SKOOOL

This always happens though. I have ratty old cars (that I enjoy) I ride BMX across town despite being 6ft2 (it does fit) and I'm in me thirties, I still sport different hair do's and out of fashion stuff (I'm actually currently in nearly)

They don't get it, they think that their blinkered view and lifestyle is teh coolest ever and have the right latest kit...

or

they don't, what I means is they are jealous you dare do summat different or have a shiny old bike!

I'm proud of my modest retro
Why?
- because it rides beautiful, can go anywhere, my bottle only stops gnarly bits
- it has not really got anything to prove, no mod cons
- Its a celebration that I was the right age to enjoy MTBing as it came in and evolved (missed a bit of it)
- I love keeping it real, feedback and skillz from riding rigid
- I built it
- Finally its hand built steel

Its one big celebration!

Saying that I'm still interested in current bikes, I'm yet to establish which I prefer riding...

it's even worse on the roadie side of things, they are total snobs!

I used to get stick in the road club I ride with. I ride lugged steel frames, no carbon fiber, no ti...

The laughter stops at the first hill, sometimes weighing in at 55kg wringing wet and in SPDs has its advantages. I love hills!

I sometimes take the old fixed out. 1970s Claude Butler with a 69inch gear, it's a giggle on the South Downs, the only way to get up the hills is to sprint them and keep the gear spinning over and the downhills really do develop "la suplesse".

its a jealousy thing,we were at the right place at the right time and the new kids have all mist the boat............and point, lol

retro is not a thing.......its a way of life,life is good :D
