Disc Brakes and V-Brakes

I did think about removing the boster, but the screws aren't tapped all the way along their length, so they cannot secure all the components without the booster (which I want to get rid of anyway).

I don't have a tapping tool.

Or look out for an avid 'arch rival' v brake, booster built in and very powerful. I picked one up on ebay for a £5 recently

Just get a replacement rear v brake and ditch the crap, your bike will be happier.

What would I need in order to get rid of the booster so that I could tighten it all with a screw which is tapped all the way?

2 new bolts... size M6 I think, 'bout 20mm long.

Local bike shop, for only a quid or so

Do you think that I would need the same size for the front as well if I want to get rid of the booster whilst I choose the right disc brakes?

Nip to Halfrauds or your bike shop and blag a ride on a bike with discs before you make any decisions

I can't see bolts but would assume they come with them if not LBS or halfrauds will have loads. M6 is the thread and would guess 20mm length
