Difference between Specialized M2 models...

There's a guy on here (who has the Plamer FSR replica) that told me he rode an S-Works M2/M4 up until 2000. Team MBUK also rode the M4 Stumpys for Slalom.

I'm not going to be dirt jumping. I usually just like riding round the wood, BMX track, pump track, dual slalom, 4x.

Most of my riding is just fun MBUK Dirt stuff.

Just an update. Got my 15.5" 99 M2 built up mostly.

Geo feels pretty good apart from toes touching front tyre sometimes. Got 175mm on there right now and going to install some 170mm XTR later.

Will be posting pics this weekend maybe.

I like the standover height but maybe wish the top tube was a tiny bit longer? Mostly because of my feet touching the tyre sometimes. The new cranks will mostly reduce this though.

One thing I've noticed from this bike just from just sitting on it in the living room, just a tap of the pedals send the bike forward really quickly. Hard to explain but it almost feels like I've had a little push from someone.

Re: M2 frames.

My commuter bike is a bright orange '98 Specialized StumpJumper S-Works M2 with full Shimano XT and the Shimano XTR "rapid-riser" rear deraulliier where the trigger climbs up the cassette and you can drop down to the highest gear in two thumb pushes. New XT triple ring. Thompson Elite post with a Salsa leather/Kevlar wrapped titanium seat (Stolen). Ritchey comp seat post with the seat that came on my Felt road bike. Easton "MonkeyLiteSL" handlebars. Ritchey Pro-Paradigm WCS pedals. Continental 1.4 slicks. Yeti grips. Yoda sticker. It's super tight.
