Did the Flite come in a "non titanium" model?

Afternoon All,

I have a rather nice grey flite that I believed to be Ti but I am now not so sure ....

Even on really worn flite saddles the "titanium" has been visible even when the lettering hasn't :?

This grey one has no sign.

I thought they did a cheaper(?) magnesium version but this one looks almost steel railed :?

Can anyone shed any light?

I know they did a Vanadium one because I've got one.

Not sure what Vanadium is and whether or not it's better/worse than Ti.

Vanadium is an alloying element, commonly in steel. It's used in drill bits most commonly and in general steels.

Ah right ok - they use it with Ti too though don't they (as in 3AL-2.5V Ti frames)...?

Sorry - gone off track a little. I'll shush now

There was a manganese railed version too, in fact I believe the current "Flite Classic" is manganese railed, just steel really, but I suppose it sounds better.
