diamond back klunker COMPLETED, PAGE 5

Got the wheels back off longun today, all nice and tight. Hoping to crack on and get this built this afternoon if i can.

Well, it's done.

Final spec,

Frame, diamondback steel cruiser. Repainted in brown then rubbed down for an aged effect.
Fork, detail to follow
Headset, cheap 1" ahead
Stem, cheap adjustable, open to change
Bar, inverted scott at2
Grips, brown faux leather. Bikehut
Seatpost, use
Saddle, brooks
Chainset, 3 piece bmx style
Pedals, generic flats
Wheels. Xt 737 front hub, el cheapo coaster brake rear. Rims are spank ambrosia in brown.
Tyres, schwable ballooners
Chain, taya singlespeed

Cheers guys. Stem will be changed once i dial the ride in. I didn't have a clue where it would be ride position wise.

cool as, at least the stem gives you an idea what the ideal reach & rise should be ;) I have some of those tyres and they're so comfy and surprisingly capable on dirt too (so long as it's dry!), the saddle looks brill too.
 
i didnt know that it came from a skip. that's awesome

just pleased it is finally rideable, well, built i should say. took it for a quick scoot last night and didnt get out of the road end! i had a bit of a bodge in place to space out the rear axle and it failed - they were just too large a diameter. will use washers.

also the bmx type bottom bracket has caused some frustration trying to tighten the lock nuts without nipping the bearings. will try that again with another pair of hande.
