Deore MT60 Compatibility Question

Is it possible to run 7 speed on a first-gen Deore group? I don't want to deal with sourcing a uniglide cassette and a compatible build, I'm trying to restore a Ritchey Ascent on a budget.

yes, have been running 7spd for many moons. The MT-60 shifters have that extra click allowing 7spds to be used.

and to noggle your noogle MT-60 mechs will do 10spd (with road shifters) too!
