Dekerf Team ST frame - broken

After some soul searching (and the purchase of another frame), I'm going to have to abandon the plan to repair this frame.

It is a blue Dekerf ST size 18.5" c-t made from Reynolds 853 and TI.

The break is shown in the pictures and is the 'classic' failure point.

All other tubes are great.

Chris Dekerf will repair (both sides) for approx £200 - you could have a respray for about the same (includes new decals) and then have a spankingly good frame in the colour of your choice.

I have spent some money on the frame shipping it here and there so would like to get back the £47 it owes me.

I hope the pictures tell the story. You are welcome to view if you are near Kingston, SW London.

What metals would be involved in the weld?
I'm assuming the chainstays are Ti? and the BB is steel?
If its all steel i'd like dibs :D

The Ti chainstay slides onto a steel spigot. You can see the end of the spigot attached to the BB shell.

The spigot has broken at the point where the Ti chainstay butts up against the spigot's broader profile.

Chris Dekerf would repair by fitting new spigots so you would need fabricate some I suppose.

The chainstays are bonded onto the spigots using a flexible epoxy..

If you hunt about online, there is a detailed photo history of the ST that was built for a Retrobike member called Stefan and the fitting of the chainstays is clearly shown.

Hope this helps..
