Deary me!

I've a friend who is a very keen cyclist - I saw him win a race once with snapped bars, he was holding the broken bit in one hand and somehow still managing to use the thumbie - poorly described but it was very funny. Even better he then changed into his 'podium kit'. Anyway, I digress.

He had a large, quality bike collection, including a Raleigh 753 and other gems. He had a particularly nasty separation from his wife at the time who then sold ALL his cycling stuff including clothing on eBay for absolute pennies.

My blood runs cold when I think about it - I must remember to be nice to Vinia this evening.

my friend paul came home from work to find his 8b ikes chucked all over the front garden (bare in mind he was living in merthyr at the time) disc brake hoses ripped out, mechs bent, the works

A very good (and honest) customer of ours once came into my bike shop with a set of Zipp 440's. His triathlete neighbor just moved out and his wife was getting rid of stuff. She threw these wheels away thinking that they were fairly worthless and he couldn't track the couple down to return them. $200 later, I had a nice set of wheels.

Moral of the story #1... if you have nice parts make sure your spouse knows the value.

Moral of the story #2... women suck.
