Dean Titanium [almost finished 08-29]

Re:

Thanks for sharing this wonderful story which turned out good at the end! I hope everything turns out good for you, this frame is just a beginning. Can imagine why kids like dean with the colorful logo! Hope to see this one in real life on one of the retrorides!

Re: Dean Titanium

Thanks for sharing the story, J!

This build is now even special for all of us! Hope to see you with this bike soon on one of the Dutch retro-rides!

Cheers,
Bart

Re:

Awful story, but you're on th right path doing something you love. I've had a tough few years myself and cycling is one of the things helping me get back on track too :)

Re: Dean Titanium

Hell of a story, sorry to hear that.

Love the frame. Thing about those Dean's is that those graphics could look cheesy and a little bit naff now, but they really don't and just look great.

I'm doubt I'll ever be in a position to get anything else, but if I was, a Litespeed, Merlin or Dean would be it.

Hope the build and everything else goes well.

D.

Re: Dean Titanium

Thanks, I'm really happy with my girlfriend since 2,5 years now.
I agree on the graphics, allthough I don't really like the 'titanium' decals.
They are remakes I guess, because they are bigger than original.
I think I'll remove them.

Re: Dean Titanium

Yesterday some minty fresh forks arrived, really happy with the condition!

Now looking for a 1 1/8" steerer.

Re: Dean Titanium [update 26-04 > forks]

You're ditching the Ti forks? I know they are not original, but h*ll they look awesome!

Nothing wrong with a minty set of Manitous though.

Re: Dean Titanium [update 26-04 > forks]

Hi, I think I have a lovely threaded steerer/crown in 1 1/8" available; what length do you need?

Re: Dean Titanium [update 26-04 > forks]

No not ditching them, I also love these.
But I really want to do a 100% period build, so with the Manitou.
I can always go for a retromod weightweenie build later, the forks are 777 grams and the stem/handlebars only 238
