i was just wondering what happened to al the DCDs (Daves Chain Device) ?

I suspect that people realised they didnt do that much so stopped using them.... i dont ever see any on bikes posted in this forum.
but in the early 90s loads of people used them, i seem to remember them being a cool extra bit of bike bling !!!!
i was a young teenager in the early 90s were they just cool to me because i was young ?
does anyone still use them ? pics please ( just for the hell of it) ? :)

EDIT ... poll added for a bit of fun.. (im bored and its sunday)

I think I've got two hanging around - I'll fit one to a suitable bike and take a pic.

I prefered the Ging tensioner...

they were cool, and MK2 where better - didnt make so much noise - i had a gold one, but ive never seen a gold one since

They were cool, nicely priced wee trinket that everyone in the mags seemed to have. Imagine my dissapointment when it didn't fit my dales chainstay  had to malky it with a hammer.

I have a NIB Mr Crud DCD, came free with loads of other parts when I bought the Vit T last week

I hated them. Really really not cool. They can single handedly destroy the lines of any bike.back in the day i didn't like them either. Just seemed too see through that all the mbuk crew had them and they were pally with the manufacturers. I guess they had their place on downhill bikes but not xc

i have still got one on my GT LTS that i used for downhill racing back in '96. i think that on downhill bikes they were a good idea but maybe not as much for x-country . but then more sophisticated chain devices came along and i guess they became redundent .
