DAWES GALAXY OR NOT ???? HELP PLEASE

Hi Everyone,

Help please if you can
I have this bike as in picture
Frame No 01414
Dawes Hand Built
Maillard wheels, Michelin tyres, Simplex 10 Speed Gears, Weinmann brakes
wheel size 27x1.1/4
Ive been told its a Dawes Galaxy but it doesnt say Galaxy anywhere.

Could anyone help me (is it a Galaxy model or not) ?

Been told its a 1970's bike but which year I dont know

Do you know what tubing is it made from?

Looks like late 70's early 80's from the paint job & decals to me (I'm no expert, just remember them from bike shops as a kid drooling over the latest kit!)

That is a Sterling, from the early 1980s.

I'm sorry to disappoint, but it is several notches below a Galaxy. It's plain guage Reynolds 500.

Looks nice though! People have toured the world on much less.
