Dave Yates resto build

Thanks - I've no intention whatsoever to sell this as something it isn't. It was a frame that was unbranded when I picked it up so I didn't know what it was to start with. I lived around the corner from M Steel cycles for years so wanted to brand it as something I was a fan of and a local connection. I totally disagree with being able to brand a bike the way you wish if it's your own bicycle. I had Scott stickers all over my Raleigh back in the day but I had no intention of trying to sell fake bicycles. I'm committed to the classic and retro bicycle scene and have no reason to try and con someone with a fake bicycle. It's a resto in honour of a great frame builder not to devalue or misinform anyone in the future.

Sorry I should qualify it was a Reynolds 531 frame with stickers when I picked it up but without anything else in terms of branding i.d. this was a personal project for me and I'd be more than happy (if I sold it )which I have no plans for to explain the background. I agree ethics 100% in terms of counterfeiting bicycles but that's not my intention. Cycling is art in the widest sense and art is open to the widest sense of interpretation and if combined with ethics and communication not out to devalue a process.

Firstly, I had no thoughts whatsoever in terms of you attempting to rebadge it and then sell it on. Your post didn't come across as someone wanting to flip it on the second hand market.

But you say you rebadged a Scott. That's cool. Scott is a worldwide brand and it's probable that a Mr. Scott, who is passionate about his craftwork doesn't exist anyway. This is the point I tried (badly) to make in my Colnago reference.
If I'm honest, I personally have no problem with you relabelling as a Dave Yates, but my question stands, I wonder what Dave himself would think if he saw it
