Dave Lloyd Frame Register

Mines got a 27.2 carbon post and it's been no bother.
It'll be made from a quality tubeset with thin walls so likely requires a 27.2 post.

Re:

We all like some bike pics, don’t we?
I love this paint job, seems to be a fairly regular style on concept 90’s?

Re:

WOW!

What a stunning looking bike.

The paint is absolute classic 1990's Dave Lloyd, and most likely the guy who painted it was Ritchie Boyd who is a member of the forum and who now lives in Canada.

Re:

On behalf of my fellow Australians, that is an absolutely gorgeous bike... Thanks for sharing :xmas-big-grin:

Hi Everyone,

Here's a link to my Flickr account showing what I believe is my Dave Lloyd Quantum 650. I bought it ten years ago for £500. I think I somewhat overpaid for it, yet it seems to be a rare bike. I can't find any letters and numbers on the frame. It's attracted attention from officianado's down at Bicycletta in Saffron Walden and on the Essex Spring Lambs. It's in fair condition; mostly paint chips, but it's in full working order. I'm keen to learn some more about it and put it up for sale in due course.

Many thanks indeed!

Cheers

Chris

Re:

Buried somewhere under the paint on the underside of the bottom bracket will be a frame number starting LL.....

I'd say from the chips on the chainstay that your frame has been repainted at some point and that the paint has been applied over chrome. If you can find the number I can tell you when it was built, what it was built from and who ordered the frame.

I don't know how many Q650's Dave made, I could count them up from the register, but.... you know.

Mine is in the same colour scheme as one belonging to the great man himself, I have tried to copy his build specs but the carbon wheels and titanium forks were impossible to find and the titanium cassette, had I been able to find one, would have probably const more than my house.
