Dave Lloyd Frame Register

The guy who did the paint work is on this forum. Think he's in Australia now. Neil might know :) Reason I ask about the forks is my Concept 90 came minus forks, and even though I was lucky enough to find Dave Lloyd forks for it I don't think they're off a Concept 90 (earlier probably, 80s maybe). I know what you mean about trying them out though, given the damage to the front of the frame etc

Re:

Argos in Bristol could get that looking like new again.... unfortunately the cost would be.... erm.... a bit.

New top and down tubes would not be horrendously expensive, but the paint, that would be the really pricey bit.

Re:

Hello again Neil, I think we have a winner..... LL93751 Columbus Max lugged. The number on the steerer is 751 also (mistook the 5 for a 3 initially) I was getting led astray by the seller telling me it was built in 1995... What does the book of Lloyd have to say about this one. Thanks, Sean.

Re:

Pictures, or it never happened.

93751 is indeed a 'Road' bike made of 'MAX' and was originally ordered by Gerard Brophey. It is the 754th frame in the register.

I didn't realise Dave was making lugged bikes as late as 1993, so that's interesting stuff.

Re:

I've bought it from a Gerry Brophey, whom I believe is the son of the original G Brophey. Pictures, yes give me an hour or two. Thanks again.

Re:

Some photos..... The story I've had is that G Brophey senior and junior refurbished the bike together at some stage as a project and that was when the orange paint was applied. The bike has in later years had some sort of manky looking repair to the rh chainstay which will some investigation before any building starts. The brake bridge is quite unique, I've never seen anything like it. Any particular area you would like more detail of Neil?

Re:

Looks really nice, I've not seen a Dave Lloyd like that before, I look forward to hearing how it rides.

Re:

I'll certainly inform you Neil on how it rides.... Fortuitously it's relatively long in the top tube so there's a chance it'll fit fairly well. 57 st, 59 tt. Thanks, Sean.
