Sold Dave Lloyd Beez Neez Frame, Forks and Stem - Needs Work

I have decided to sell my Dave Lloyd BeezNeez. I needs work so please read the detail below.

I bought it from @si33 in 2021 with the intention of restoring it but a young family and limited time has meant I haven’t been able to do it. Hopefully someone else has the motivation and time do it. Only the stem still has its classic paint job.

I believe there is a crack behind the head tube as the paint looks split at one point on the top tube and down tube. It’s the same area it let go before. There is also a sizeable ding in top tube. But the paint needs to be stripped back and professionally assessed or by a member with far more knowledge than me.

I believe it’s only one of 14 registered in the U.K. serial number LL92622z it’s a mix of 653, 531 and 753 tubing.

Here’s an extract from the original ad. The sale includes the frame, forks, stem and a copy of the MTB pro magazine in which it’s featured.

Project for sale. This is the first BEEZ NEEZ made and the one featured in the first issue of MTB Pro magazine. Originally painted in a very snazzy yellow and black ‘Bee’ scheme. The frame cracked and went back to Dave for repair in the mid-90s. As a result, it lost its ‘Bee’ paint scheme. The stem does retain the original paint though. The frame looks to have cracked in the same place so will need repair before future use. Also a sizeable dent in the top tube.

Historically, I’d say this is a very interesting example, being the first BEEZ NEEZ made and being featured in MTB Pro. Obviously it’ll be a big project to get it back to its former glory, or alternatively make a great conversation starter, mounted on the wall as it is.
