Cycling on Top Gear

Blimey, do people still watch that Crap? The three gas guzzling idiots still spouting Sh*te? The only surprise is people still watch it. I don't, because i would of come on here/other forums and wasted another hour arguing about it. I was reading a book at the time, i'm glad i made that choice.

Could be saud for most things these dayz... discussions on retrobike/BOTM lounge threads... politicians shafting the poor/eachother/eachothers wives... the news.... ad infinitum

Who was it, now, who compared Top Gear to Last of the Summer Wine? I'm seeing some foreshadowing, there, with Compo, Foggy and Clegg.

Clarkson, May and Hammond careering down a Yorkshire hill in a bathtub would make the license fee worthwhile.

If you dont like it, you can always switch over you know. You still have that power

But dont worry, when Scotland goes it alone, you wont have to worry about Top Gear, you wont have the BBC.

Its one of the most successful BBC exports around the world so somebody somewhere is doing something right.

It reminds me of the Andrew Sachs Radio 2 saga. Russell Brands' show was the only listenable thing on the entire network at 10pm on a saturday night. 3 people genuinely complained until the Mail got hold of it and blew it all out of proportion. The same happens to Top Gear, somebody says something we all agree with but cant shout out loud and all hell breaks loose from some tiny but loud minority.

If you dont like it, switch off or do something else but dont sit their and whine just because the silly old men said something slightly rude.

And the cycling was funny. Hammond should have been on a 29er.

Of course we have the option to switch over/off or whatever. I happen to enjoy the subject matter generally, but occasionally find they reach a new level or ordinariness that is unforgivably less than the sum of the parts.

Not sure why anyone would think Scotland would be short changed in media terms were we independent. We manage quite well to dominate the UK wide media and cultural programming as it stands. We have an abundance of talent in the television department.

One of the most successful BBC exports? I guess that makes One Direction a great band then?

What exactly do you want to shout out loud but cannot? Where is Top Gear helping you there? We are all wandering around restraining our xenophobic urges are we? Perhaps it is a release for those who don't have the balls to walk like they talk or even talk like they think. How sad. The thing about Brand, well it just was not funny. A very apt analogy then.

I will say whatever I want about whatever I want. It is ironic to be referred to as whining. Very much kettle pot. Yet not, as in this instance the pot is eternally black and the kettle is not even taken from its shelf but for a polish on the last Sunday of the month. The pot, on the other hand, spends a great deal of time 'whining' about the rest of the world being against them.

What a hoot.
