I recently picked up an 49cm 700c alloy hybrid bike with steel forks, disc brakes - previous owner's wife said that he had it shipped over from the UK to Australia in mid 2000 but didn't know much more about it except that it cost a couple of grand landed. He is uncontactable so trail ends there.
Anyway, I worked out that its probably a ~2006 Kona Dr Dew - Same frame, dropouts, forks, location of braze-ons and components (with the exception of rear d/r which should be deore) but interestingly the frame is polished alloy and does not appear to have ever been painted.
Was it possible to order custom finishes on the bike? I've checked out Kona's www archive, but none of the Dews come with polished alloy frame.
