There was an article about it on the news today, people stood on the street holding thermometers hitting 50c, one bloke cooking an egg! The building owners said they could come up with a solution, which I can only imagine would be hideously expensive...

The developer is going to erect a screen at ground level in the affected street, and claim the phenomenon should pass in a few weeks once the seasons move on.

Which begs the question as to what they'll do this time next year...?

By this time next year some enterprising fellow will construct a food van that runs on solar power.
Unfortunately it isnt destined to last long with skin cancer killing off the vendors :LOL:

The same architect designed a building in Las Vegas that did the exact same thing. But with the added advantage of desert heat and sun to make it even more extreme. There was a piece in today's Independent about it.
