I've definitely seen a documentary where the blades come out of the furnace for inflation, wasn't shown because trade secret etc.

I could have it arse upwards regarding blades..many 2 stroke turners do this for expansion chambers.

I've chopped up a P7 of around that age (it'd had an altercation with a tree) and don't remember seeing anything inside the tubes that led me to believe they were anything other than a bog standard steel frame tube.
It might have been a slightly newer one I chopped up actually, it had the sliding dropouts.

That would be a P7 with those drop-outs. The webbed tubing matrix applies only to the P7 Pure I believe. I'm not cutting it up!
