...creaky saddle rails

Got a similar creak on my fire mountain, I always assumed it was the micro adjust clamp creaking on the top of the u.s.e. post as if I tightened up a bit it would stop, then 10 miles later it was back. Does my head in! :x

I assumed it was the rails/clamp or the bolts creeping. Never considered the post in the shim/frame. Saddle is brand new so shouldn't be that.
 
Report back after being out today.
As yet not a clunk, groan or squeak. Seems the little can of spray oil has done its job :D
 
Saddle and seatpost manufacturers that might be paying attention to or monitoring this thread please take note.

For saddles: An indexed, knurled section on the saddle rails would eliminate movement of the clamp on the rail and resolve said squeaking.

For saddle clamps: Serrated clamp rail channels would likweise eliminate movement of the rail in the clamp.
