Here he's talking about it during an interview

EDIT : oops, I thought you meant the JC one. My bad. Hadn't noticed the Leona Whatshername's version yet, and right now I wish I never had.

Interesting -

Nine Inch Nails did it well
Johnny Cash did it brilliantly
Leona - just no.

I do think the emotion of Johnny Cash doing it really made a difference and i might be right in saying it was his last song (i stand to be corrected).

Richard

It certainly wasn't his last song. Hurt is a track on American IV and the clip was shot when his wife June was still alive (she can be seen in the video at 2:34-2:3:cool:.
After her death he started recording every single day until his health didn't allow it anymore (he died 4 months after her). After his death, Rick Ruben managed to compile 2 more albums (American V and VI) from the material JC left behind.

It was his last video though.

Good stuff - it must be the 'last video' bit that i was thinking of. I have the albums - they are incredibly good.

Richard

Hey Richard,

If you are "an aging punk" to use your words, are there any pics of you with a foot high Mohawk?

Steven

Steven,

I was born with very little hair and it did not grow a lot as i grew up and then - it left me!!! So, to answer your question - no.

But, are you my long lost American cousin?
