sorry matey no sympathy from me. you broke the law. not saying i never have but when i do i accept the fact i may get caught.

+1. Sick to the back teeth of folk who whinge about getting nabbed by cameras when they've obviously broken the law - some of my work colleagues (of the "no camera = perfectly OK to break the limit" school of thinking) seem to have that particular talent down to a fine art. Does my head in no end.

I don't quite understand this "it's ok to speed cos it's 3am" malarkey. Stopping distances don't reduce at night, kinetic energy works the same in the dark, hit someone and they're no less likely to die because the moons up.

The "3am" point is made, I suspect, in reference to there being no other traffic about wherever it was the offendee was nabbed rather than any time-related affects on physics.

Here, are those speed cameras calibrated ?

As let's face it, it is a measuring device used to extract monies, so where is the proof what it is recording is accurate ?

Electronics go out of calibration, so do these devices get calibrated and if so, do all these devices hold a valid calibration certificate to say they are measuring accurately ?

The details would be available if requested and perhaps on the picture.

Those old get outs were closed years ago.

Yes, yes, yes and yes.

Ive been done twice (and only by unmanned speed cameras)

last one 2 years ago along a dual carriageway the limit went from 60 - 50. I didn't see the signs (err watching the road!) and got popped at 59 in a 50.

The first time was 12 years ago -= same deal a dual carridge way was downgraded to a 50 at a roundabout and a temporary speedcamera set up 50 yards after the 50 sign in the 3 weeks after the change. thay caught a few hundred drivers there. annoyingly it took them 5 months to chase me up and deliver the PCN. again my fault but unscrupulous for the police force for chasing me after the 2 week limit (something i was unaware of at the time)

Your driving so no one else to blame really

You do just have to suck it up if caught.. unless you really are not guilty, of course.

I was offered one of those road safety blah blah things but the cost of fuel was going to be more than the fine. 3 points make no difference on the licence so I took the fine.

I'd rather speed and take my chances than trundle everywhere at 30.

Does anyone else speed up when you see a sign that displays your speed? It's especially good in a twenty's plenty zone, wee sad faces all round. Twenty is not plenty, I'd be quicker on my bike ffs.

I've had tickets for not wearing a seatbelt, no tax and parking. Just need a speeding one to complete the set.

you sir are a rob warner t-shirt. actually condoning putting peoples lives at risk for your own fun. you are what is wrong with the world.
