and thanks to Recon you can have 10 speed if you have the urge :oops:

I'd still rather have thumb shifters But these are the next best option :cool:

Gripshifts were always cheaper so that was a cool factor at that time, not so cool if that means cheap shifting, as in not so accurate as rapid fire. Besides on muddy and rainy days after repairs on a chain or a olympic dive into a puddle, you would struggle to do exactly what the names suggests: get some grip to shift. The transitions between uphills and downhills which involved braking and shifting at the same time required some additional skills too, not to say superhuman. Another and last issue, it scuffed the handlebar and/or covered the nice logos ;D

Until Shimano got it right with M770 I was gripshift only.

Riles me a bit that SRAM have dropped it for 10-speed TBH.

So definitely cool. Specially Sachs Wavys and PG Extremes and the last SRAM offerings.

i know the voting is over but i never liked grip shift,
and the votes say it all,
grip shift = load of old crap.

My mum's old 70's shopper had GS for it's 3 gears and all BSO's have them now it seems. That is not cool.

Never liked them and have not changed my mind, Yuk.

Oh, this one is tough. When grip shift came out I thought it was cool because it was simple and bomb proof - two things I value in bike gear. Then I bought a bike with twist shifters and learned to loath it.

gripshift = hella cool

It's all I ride. If they had a roadie version, I'd rock it on my Bianchi.
