Yes, I don't think I completely agree with the seller having to refund postage as if the buy had purchased from a shop they would have to pay for petrol / bus to get there. Although it's the easiest way I guess without loads of extra regulation.

You could look at it in this way that the buyer is being left out of pocket. Can that be fair that two people enter a contract which then fails. The seller is ok and has his goods but the buyer is left with no purchase and is expected to pay for that privilege .

This turned out fine as i located the problem with a poor connection which was easily fixed but if ive ever to contact ebay ill go for the ring back as suggested by Twain
