This is almost a compact triple using 49,39,28 tooth rings on a Campagnolo Racing-T crankset. The rings are Specialites TA and look right at home on the crank. The Racing-T is a cheap crankset on ebay, looks fairly retro and uses a 111mm ISO bottom bracket. It may not be cool like a compact double, but if vast gearing range without giant steps is what you're after this crank setup works well.
