Heres mine

Is that fixed wheel?

Yes, ran it single speed for a couple of years then last year got the fixed ones.

Fixed rocks! I used to love doing TT's on my track bike. Just bang a different set of wheels in, tri-bars and a front brake and away we go. So, so light

Drop bars? Or at the very least bar ends to get a bit more flat-back and aero...

Here's my 1990 Marin...purists may shudder

If that ever dies can I have the brakes please?

back on topic I's suggest drops too - they really do make a huge difference.

If you can squeeze a 700c wheel in that'd be good too - MTBs are designed to run approx 2" tyres and when you whack 1" slicks on the bottom bracket gets quite low and you can smack your pedals easily.

I'd at least drop the bars as low as you can, and look at bar ends/flat bars as suggested. there is a commuters thread here:

WHO'S is the mahoosive picture? come on own up. I'm looking at you Hamster

The joys of working in a windows environment...shrink the picture, hit compress and the discard crop options, still the same original size.

Friday afternoon software I think.

"Oh, we promised Bill we'd have a photo editor by the end of the week...!"

Sorry guys.

The first one was the size of the bike :D

Edit: Done now...

It won't die..it's made of steel (and already 18 years and several 10's of thousands of miles old) :D

It's toured in Europe, Asia, Australia and the USA. Not bad for a £300 Palisades!

That looks massive fun! Nowt wrong with an urban hardtail specially if you wanna do a bit on your travels, my mates just bought a Marin Muirwoods "urban Hardtail" which looks great similar idea to my Revolution Courier race, except mine is alloy, MTB sturdy ness but 26lbs and slicks on big tough rims.

--back to the question, the front end looks high what abut lowering the stem a little?

And as I'm never happy with my stem height length (moon on a stick) I'm so tempted to try those H bars out sometime...

Paid $30, considered it a Flite with a free bike. Put some new tires on and I've been abusing it around town for well over a year now! It's made out of Mangy EX (clockspring steel) and combined with the sheer grown-man-could-crawl-through-the-main-triangle-ness of the thing this makes for some 'lively' handling.
