Colour quandry for new Dogs Bolx (the bike!)

I think it'd be pretty difficult to come back here and say I got any colour other than black and white!

Just as I'd only get a Pace in silver. A Yo eddy in aqua fade. A yeti in turquoise and yellow. And a San Andreas in Silver and Red. Black and white is the traditional colour. So will have to be something really really really special to persuade me otherwise.....

when chas issued catalogues-a long time ago i know-they issued one in late 90s which ahd a multi coloured dogs in it

the frame is yellow with green half rear stays-red rockshox forks and stem and blue seatpost -it has a middleburn crankset with blue black and red chain rings and red pedals -the decals are in black with the word team in red

!!

not suggesting it is a good scheme-just that they had other team colour schemes than black and white

my 2011 planned dogs is still awaiting my decision about clour scheme but i have 18 months to decide

It's a custom bike, unique to you. You only get measured up for a bike once in a blue moon so why just make your bike look the same as everyone elses? White and Black is nice, but that's the vintage colourway for the vintage bike, create your own classic! Why not flip the colours, black middle, white front and rear?

Personally I love steel bikes in single metallics (frame, forks and stem), and nothing says british custom like Met BRG which looks stunning with silver parts.

Thank god, the voice of alternative reason  .

If I was getting a custom frame made I would want a custom colour to go with it. Sure make it black and white if you were restoring an old frame back to it's original state but this is fresh and I think that you should make it unique to you. black & white is the safe option though but with a little courage you could have something a little bit special. Whatever colour you choose the finish will be excellent no doubt and will still be the b.o.l.x ;)

.

The OP does say he's indecisive though. Chas may have too much choice, ;) so he'll choose B&W to stop his head exploding!

my mate's got a DB that he had gloss black, gold rear and gold decals.
Running a pair of 36 proclass with the nitride stantions.

He also had Middleburn anno a set of cranks with black rings! It was the pimpiest bike 'I ever did see'. :D

still b+w though!

Just back, and it's not as easy as you'd think! After talking to Chas for an hour and a half, I'm not getting what i thought i wanted at all!

Thought i'd just get a standard DB. But when we talked about what it'd get up to, it became apparent that more of a cyclocross bike is appropriate. And am even thinking of drop bars

But that might be a step too far for me....

So far, so good. I would definitely recommend it for a once in a lifetime treat.

But still not decided on the colour yet!
